RAJ BHOWMIK -
RB-BTS DREAM DAY, 2011
" 10 MAY - RB-BTS DAY "
(The Annual Raj Bhowmik Back To Society DAY)
Our Founder
says, being born on this planet is of no use or any reason
for celebration, unless we are useful to the society we live
in and serve the needy people of society who need us the
most.
For
years, our Founder has utilized this day to
conceptualize new policies of social and public development
work/ ventures/ efforts/
movements for the year ahead.
Thus, Year-after-year, every year, various life-enriching new
projects are undertaken and new horizons are chalked out and
envisioned by our Founder. New RB-BTS DREAM dreams are
conceptualized and policies are undertaken and drafted. In
all its right sense it is really a day of DREAMS, hence the
right opportunity to celebrate the RB-BTS DREAM DAY, also
known as Global Compassion Day.
A token of gratitude to Raj Bhowmik
Celebrating the Annual RB-BTS DAY is a token of gratitude from everybody connected

not even written, spoken about, advertised or bragged about.
After unanimously demanding that the SPF TEAM,
all well-wishers, fans and followers want this day to be
celebrated, Our Founder had to say: "If all of you
so deeply demand that this day be celebrated, then let the
real essence of the RB-BTS DREAM DAY sprinkle to the world
and be celebrated on this day forever. Let this day be a
motivation and a milestone for everybody from all sections

VOLUNTEERS AT PEOPLE'S TRUST

“Inspiring Us Together to Act, Give, Learn & Grow”
On May 10, came together various
corporate people, home makers, moms, retired professionals
and children under one roof – The Raj Bhowmik Back To
Society Day to do something together – It was about opening
their hearts & minds to connecting, to learn, give and
receive.

A group of 30 RB-BTS DREAM volunteers
from Bangalore came together as a family for the very first
time and extended a helping hand to reach out to 150
children from the 18 villages of Sriramanahalli at the
People’s Trust Campus Bangalore. They were ranging from Age
10 – 15 and were excited, happy and eager to learn.
The engaging activities were lead by
industry professionals who are passionate about the skill
and have pursued it in their daily life. Activities were in
the following domains:
- Connecting with trees on a
beautiful green 10 acre campus
- Photographs telling a story
- Art from everyday objects based on
a rural background
- Advertising and the art of telling
the story of a product that has immense value
- Movement and Body Flexibility
- Newspapers and creative writing
- Storytelling and Values in Life
We humbly thank our
Founder Sri Raj Bhowmik who is so full of Compassion
every single moment of His Life that many more new
individuals just had to immerse themselves in the experience
by being open, to experience the same. As one of the RB-BTS
Day Volunteers said “Service on a Platter”. In our fast
paced life we often wish we could reach out to others,
because everyone inside only wants to be useful, yet it
remains only a thought. The RB-BTS Day is one such platform
that is provided by our Founder Sri Raj Bhowmik that
serves multiple purposes.
RB-BTS DREAM is a
revolution and a Movement in human consciousness of reaching
out and extending the Self to a larger consciousness. This
is only possible from someone so noble in deed and action
such as Sri Raj Bhowmik who is realized and has seen the
Vision of Global Peace as an outcome, lived it and is
convinced about making this a part of everybody else’s Life
beyond Known and unknown faces, lands & cultures.
Most RB-BTS Day Volunteers came by
thinking that this is where they would impact & teach
skills. But as one of them said, “We were humbled by what we
received. So much that it has created a Stillness inside me
even after 2 days”.
RB-BTS Day
Volunteer Speak: The Experience :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anuradha Simha (Advocate,
Bangalore)
I can’t tell you how moving the
experience is. I felt so energetic after a long day of work.
It made me feel that I can be of help. I was amazed at the
way children grasped new learning and I realized how
talented they were. The group that I was in was warm and
more like a family. The whole experience humbled me. It was
very good and has no words. It was a new group for me but I
never felt new. I have done a lot of work in similar areas
but have never felt this way. When I realize the largeness
of the RB-BTS DAY touching thousands of lives across I can
only say I like being here. Whoever came had selflessness.
We all got back so much.
I would like to thank Sri Raj
Bhowmik for the platform that he has created and the
awareness it brings about. He has even made people like me
realize that you are not useless, when you give you get back
lots. We might have wanted to give always but you need a
place. Here, there was no caste, no high or low. It was a
very unique experience. Thank You for creating Soulbath
Peace Foundation.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sheela (Yoga Teacher)
I have constraints in the city
and is usually bound at home. I loved the place and just
being with the Trees. Children enjoyed the experience of
addressing us by our first names. A boy in the group called
me by the name twice and it was good to see his expression.
I would like to participate a little more and learn
something more to know so that I do a little more.
I was given an opportunity and I
am thankful to the RB-BTS DREAM Platform.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Naveen Kumar TV (Project
Manager, IBM)
What moved me was the
realization about what more can I do with them. I realized
that it was more about being with them that the skills that
were taught. There is so much more to do. The question that
I kept thinking was what more can we do in faster ways to
reach out. The awareness of the children are very high. We
need to reach out to their families to help them live their
childhood. The children want to finish grade 10 and do a
Diploma course not pursue education. The pressure is about
keeping the family going.
Soulbath Peace Foundation
needs to be applauded for what it is doing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richard Driscoll (Director
Microsoft, EPS, India)
I like children and just being
around. I enjoyed the activity that I was part of. I also
come from a village background and saw myself being one
among them. The RB-BTS Day was organized well and everything
was under control. I enjoyed being part of this experience.
Working with children was good & useful for them.
The RB-BTS Day is a worthwhile
endeavor.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prabodh Kumar Gupta (Project
Manager at IBM India)
With regard
to the yesterday event "RB-BTS Dream", I would like to thank
you for doing the great job in coordinating the event. I
cherished each & every moment of this event. All of the
eight activities were thoughtfully planned & executed. We
did it in unconventional manner & ensured the maximum
participation from the children. It was lovely to see
children enjoying the activities & was thinking in
innovative ways to complete the tasks.
I would like
to thank Raj Bhowmik for such a wonderful initiative.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lakshmi Arvind (Project
Coordinator at Project Management Centre of Excellence IBM)
May 10th was indeed one of the
most beautiful days of my life. A perfect day where I got to
learn so much and share. Would like to thank the founder for
his enormous effort in getting so many people together for
such a wonderful cause. Many of us in our busy lives only
"think" about doing something like this. However, to put it
into action and ensure it happens year after year it
requires a lot of conviction and determination. And to think
that it was not just few 100s but thousands of people across
the world is really commendable.
The peace and joy that I felt being there and contributing
in every little way I could still lingers on in my mind. Its
a kind of joy that I am just not able to describe in words
to any one outside because one has to be there to experience
it. I look forward to participate in more such programs and
give back to the community . Although my contribution might
be small but I realized somewhere it surely made a
difference to somebody in some manner. Just like the way I
got to learn how one should never stop dreaming.... well
thats what the children taught me :-). My prayers are there
with you.
Thanks to the Founder once again
in giving us all such a wonderful opportunity.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deepaa B (Corporate
Communications, Microsoft, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
What moved me was coming to see
children, their learning and their enthusiasm. The children
are up to date with all happening around them. They know
most of it. The thought that was running in my mind was that
I want to come here and be a part of it. I am so glad to be
part of this big compassion ocean. I wanted to do this for a
very long time. And now I did it. It is not possible to
reach out individually. The whole RB-BTS Day experience
helped me understand what it means to give back in its
truest essence through my experience yesterday. I realized
that I wanted to do it in my heart badly. There were
obstacles but things just moved out one by one. The
opportunity came. I realized that desire from the heart can
open out opportunities and it makes things happen.
I would like to thank the RB-BTS
DREAM platform.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gousha (Wife of IBM Employee
Sayed Saleem Basha)
I can’t even dream that I could
learn so much from the children in one day. While we were
leaving children asked us when are we coming back again.
Even thought I haven’t met Sri
Raj Bhowmik, he has taught us so much. He has a large heart
to even think something like this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jahnavi Mohan (Teacher at
Mallya Aditi International School)
It was moving to see how
everybody came with an open mind and not with the agenda of
making friends. There were no inhibitions and I felt
extremely comfortable. My thoughts were gelling with the
vision of the RB-BTS Day so I joined. I am not able to do
this on my own. I felt welcome with open arms here. Lots of
people whom I didn’t know at all as part of RB-BTS Day
Volunteers appreciated what I did. My comfort level was to
the sky.
I would like to thank for the RB-BTS
Day platform. Some of us are passionate about work like this
but we don’t know how to do and where to go. If somebody
establishes a platform such as this, then it helps. The RB-BTS
Day is one such platform.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aishwarya Suresh Srinivasan
(Marathon Runner, Entrepreneur & Home maker)
What stood out for me was the
exposure given to children in the village compared to the
city. Their responses were very clear. It was a wonderful
experience. I felt very peaceful through the day and even
after coming back wanted to keep it. I am glad that I could
be a small part and that goes a long way. I could be one of
the drops in the ocean of compassion. I would like to
continue being associated with the RB-BTS Day platform.
Raj Bhowmik has lovingly opened
the door for us. By recognizing it, entering through it and
working through the opportunities created we can make our
contribution to the RB-BTS DREAM.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pavan Kulkarni (SAP
Functional Consultant, IBM)
I was touched by the spirit of
the children, their enthusiasm to learn new and getting
involved. It feels wonderful being with the community and
reaching out this way. The RB-BTS Day Platform is a great
initiative. We are always with ourselves. We usually don’t
take time to give back apart from ourself and our immediate
family. It was a great day today ! Had a wonderful time and
learning with the children.
I thank ‘Raj Bhowmik’ for this
initiative. We need more people so that the initiative
grows. Every moment spent that day was special.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bhanu (Home maker)
What moved me was the fact that
inspite of their circumstances, the children had very clear
dreams. They have an identity. Being part of the ocean here
on May 10th was an eye opening experience where
we feel we are one. We have so many privileges in our life
and yet we complain. It helped us reach people who need
compassion desperately in their lives giving them hope,
giving them compassion & confidence.
I thank Sri Raj Bhowmik for this
platform that made me aware that it is so different to begin
with. To begin on this journey one needs the conviction &
compassion to do something of this scale.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anitha Aswathi (Project
Manager MTN @ IBM)
The warmth of the people and the
level of trust, acceptance and openness moved me. This
experience has been satisfying. I have got to know a new
level of happiness that never existed before. Earlier
previous opportunities in my life came but I never took it.
My short association with Soulbath Peace Foundation gave me
the assurance that this could be different. Whatever I had
hoped, it gave me the same.
Thank You Raj Bhowmik and the RB-BTS
Day platform.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mohana Iyer (SAHHEAL Healing
Consultant)
The sharing of joy and feeling
free was my take away. Children were willing to receiving
and giving. The RB-BTS Day sharing is from a different space
– It is out of concern not top down. I didn’t plant the seed
and didn’t see the sapling but I took care of the little
plant on that day made me learn and share that was 2 way.
Children have new ideas. One cant do everything by the self.
To be a part of something is vital. It was a feeling of
total oneness…not even connected but One. I realized that
distance does not matter but we are all connected as one.
Everything was done for us. We all want to reach out and
spend time but I haven’t done it for a long time. Thanks for
this platform available.
Thank You Raj Bhowmik for this
RB-BTS Day platform, for yesterday to happen.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Swaathi Birje (Counsellor
Special Children, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
We got connected to children in
such a short time. I am at peace with myself. Nothing
bothered or disturbed me. I am tired after a long day but
not irritable. I feel very safe and protected.
I would like to say Thank You
for choosing me Raj. What I really wanted to do is this and
the opportunity has come. This is the most luxurious way
opportunity. Thank You Raj for choosing me to be part of it
to know what service is all about.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rahul Venkatram (Manager, TED
@ Wipro Technologies, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
Every time I am attending a RB-BTS
initiative I learn and heal some part of me. This time I
felt closer to children and enjoyed the environment. Felt
transparent and free. children are true image of the soul
and being with them is a reflection of our soul. I learned
to “to be” with them. I feel by being with them and give
back to society has helped me in balancing myself and
respecting and most significantly having gratitude and
compassion towards the environment. There were no
inhibitions about being with children. I was one among them
and very much at ease. The global perspective is the synergy
happening and everybody sharing ourselves without
inhibitions.
I would like to thank the RB-BTS
Day platform and Raj as it creates a focused energy.
Grateful the way we did it. The learning was to “Be happy
with what you have”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mamta Hemrajani (Home Maker,
SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
Any event like this with SPF is
always different The children’s enthusiasm was infectious.
Till the time they took to understand they were hesitant and
after sometime language didn’t matter and they understood
everything. We should do more of it. So many people and the
same vision is overwhelming and I am happy to be a part of
it.
I would like to say Thank You to
Raj Bhowmik and am grateful to be a part of it. Soulbath
Peace Foundation has totally changed my life. It is an
honour. SPF has opened a new window and shown a path in my
life and it has surely changed since then.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Meenakshi Viswanath
(Orthodontist , SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
It was moving to see so many
people who took time out to do this together. The kids
participating, their love and love touched me. I feel
connected to this ocean of Compassion. I feel I am part of
this family and very happy and glad to be a part of it. Lot
of people are doing such good work and lots to learn from
everybody. I want to be a part of this every year from where
ever I am.
I would like to say Thank You to
the RB-BTS Day platform and Sri Raj Bhowmik. Its awesome.
Very glad to be here. I wriggled my way into it with all my
heart.
The more that I know about Him,
I feel Incredible. He is Unique. He is a Master because He
is so full of it. People have busy schedules but yet have
time to appreciate each other. The world still has lot of
nice people who contribute in a nice and genuine way. Each
and everybody was doing so much effort 100%.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Viswanath (Retd Prof.
History, Pondicherry University)
Children and their enthusiasm
was spontaneous They were shy to communicate initially. The
2 people I met in the RB-BTS Team were so connected to
children. The largeness of the RB-BTS Day was an eye opener.
I am grateful for the platform.
The noble vision of Raj Bhowmik to reach out as Back To
Society is something I could relate to that has the
fragrance of Universal Brotherhood.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Svasti (Image Consultant,
Hair Consultant, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
All the children were very
aware. They all wanted to do something. At their age we
didn’t even know that. The largeness of the RB-BTS Day of
all working towards changing the energy is moving. Earlier
people didn’t care for each other. Now I feel a part that is
doing something.
The RB-BTS DREAM Platform is
doing brilliant work. We could do so much. Lots of places
eventually will be reach out and I hope SPF will make me a
part.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deepika Talwar (Potter,
SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
Our interactions with the kids
blew my mind. The children were very aware of the events
around the world. When we asked how many people read
newspapers, only one responded but every body had an opinion
and was well aware. They all had reactions to the news in
the world. Everyone spending time together and the good
energy that is created by giving is surely expanding.
Looking at our group itself passes on as we begin telling
each other. Next time repeating this experience will get
more people feeling this same way.
I have immense Gratitude for the
RB-BTS Day platform and I am looking forward to this day. I
was always connected to working in the community. Here it
was not about how much you spent but just doing it that
moved me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vijaya Vallabhu (Clinical
Researcher, SAHHEAL healing Consultant)
It was a wonderful experience
today and each time it is something unique. Even today's
event was different in its own way. Especially the village
atmosphere, the freshness that smells in the air, the
innocence in the children's faces, the commitment of the
trust members and the volunteers is worth mentioning .I was
with the photography team, the way the children understand
and their openness to learn was really surprising. When an
individual connects to anything with a desire to learn and
commitment even the hardest lessons can be learnt in a very
simple manner. This was my learning for the day.
I would like to mention a special thank you note and best
wishes to our founder Sri Raj Bhowmik for giving such a
wonderful opportunity and the best of the trip is the care
taken for each volunteer's comfort and happiness.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vudaiy Vallabhu (Project
manager IBM, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
Today I saw a lot of Trees with
Mangos some on the ground and some on the tree. These trees
keep giving fruits and flowers to us and keep growing
silently and naturally .Children Keep smiling at us and give
us a chance to smile. They remind us that the purity of the
mind and to be joyful is something that we have within
ourselves naturally. Though the nature and the children have
always something to give and grow they do it very silently
and naturally. Today's experience was a good mix of nature
and children and their essence on Mother Earth and what our
role is.
My best wishes and
special thanks our founder Sri Raj Bhowmik to have given us
this Platform, this opportunity to have this experience of
what it means to give back to the society
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruby Bana (CIO Havas Media,
SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
I was conducting a workshop on
advertising - What makes it work? It was one of the many
thousands of things happening on the same day. However my
experience with the 15 children, many of them awaiting 10th
class results, moving into college and on verge of adulthood
was personal, It was and island with complete focus on them.
I realised even though I know my subject well and have done
this many times but this time there was a larger wisdom
flowing through me, adapting it to their life needs and
slowly it was not me conducting the workshop but just being
a medium for something bigger. In the process I learnt a
perspective to my work that I had not realised before.
I thank Raj for this RB-BTS Day
Platform
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kirti Dwivedi Bishayee
(Entrepreneur DREAMZ World Day Care, SAHHEAL Healing
Consultant)
May 10th was a unique & beautiful day in my
life. It was an experience which I am still not ready to
call as a past experience. It is best to be called a living
experience...which I am still living ...till now! On
arriving we found that the entire trust was transformed
in to a living RBBTS dream ! We were surrounded by curious
& warm faces & brightly coloured clothes... It was
definitely not a normal school day for them & all the eyes
had million questions to ask..
Our team was given the charge to conduct
dance -Movement activity - something which we all were very
enthusiastic about. We all danced together & were one all
through... All dualities of student / teacher, adult /
children, urban / rural, rich / poor had fallen. One lil
girl caught my attention when I found her sad & a teacher of
hers consoling her, in our group. On enquiring about
the reason of her moist eyes she told me that her mom
expired on 25th march this year & she was missing her very
much ! I had no words to console her, but just told her
instinctively, that, "consider me your mom child, I was born
that day!" She smiled thru tears! That made my day. We all
ate together like one big family. We expressed our heart
felt Gratitude & prayer to our Founder "SRI RAJ BHOWMIK" to
allow us a soulful & beautiful experience of the day! It
was indeed a "Still" moment when we all all prayed
together. The day ended as beautifully as it had begun..!
Wish to live many more such RBBTS days ... AMEN !
Thank You Sri Raj Bhowmik for this wonderful
platform.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shashi Wadhera (Copywriter,
Journalist, Play Wright & SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
Thank you for providing service
on our platter. The day, the moment, the gift (the power to
Dream); the occasion was completely a soul binding
experience. Thank you for the opportunity of allowing the
children feel the power to dream and also execute.
Thank you for making us the tool
.
Thank you Raj for your abundant
compassion, grace and presence.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raman Gulati (Founder,
Sonarome Foundation)
I was moved when the children in
my group were thrilled to see what they had done. I was
incharge of a few kids and they constantly kept saying “Are
you coming back tomorrow? Can we come tomorrow?” After the
event every child came and spoke to me and this was really
touching.
I thank Raj Bhowmik for
providing this warm platform
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
VOLUNTEERS OFFER FOOD AT AMBEDKAR SLUM
TEAM- Mother and Son duo (Mohua and Neel) as part of the RB-BTS Day.
Mohua Chinappa (Wife Of M.B.Chinappa
, CFO Syngene)
–
It was moving to see the happiness of small little children. They were well
behaved to find original smiles that are beyond the plasticity or urban life.
This opportunity made me realize how brave I am to go into a community where I
don’t know the language. I realized that there is no language needed to express
emotions. It was a totally soul satisfying day. Even Neel was happy. He said
that something so small like buns are making them happy. I am happy to be part
of a larger cause that feels for people. Usually we take many things for granted
and it remains untouched in our lives. We spend millions on some vacations and
other things. This is a small and worthwhile contribution.
I am thankful to the platform of RB-BTS Day and Raj Bhowmik, as I experienced
unadulterated joy with the children. Through this I am rediscovering myself.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
VOLUNTEERS AT INFANT JESUS HOME
TEAM - Mother and Daughter (Sanjana and Dashya -Age 6) as part of the RB-BTS
Day.
RB-BTS Team reached Infant Jesus Home only to realize that the family there
wanted somebody to listen to them. They sang and ate Ice creams together. Just
listening to them about their daily life feels so good just like how everybody
wants to be heard and appreciated in a relationship. There were 60 boys at the
home from age 6 – 14. 6 year old Dashya will always remember this special May 10th in
her life – that taught her that when we extend our palms, somebody is always
there to hold
In our Founder Sri Raj Bhowmik’s words
who always encourages people to live by their heart –
“I have learned that the best classroom in the world is at the feet of people
who live by the heart.
I have learned that love & compassion, not time, heals all wounds.”
Sanjana –
Infant Jesus Home always existed in the neighborhood and we must have crossed it
a billion times. However when we make an effort to create a difference, we begin
to take notice of the smallest places that we missed because we begin to Pause
and Focus. This is where CORPORitual begins and takes us forward in a Growing
Existence.
For the first time in my life when I visited a home I felt genuinely happy as I
saw happy smiles. So often we see orphans pleasing or frightened or well trained
to talk to a visitor. The children here were not pressurized and were grateful
for a small ice cream. I felt somewhere they were lonely and thought I should
just listen to them. My daughter was touched deeply. She initially was very sad
knowing about their parents but slowly became happy in their presence. I feel
grateful and the capacity to make a small difference in someone’s life ..small
but meaningful. The finding of the place took a whole half day and it was not
easy initially.
The RB-BTS Day Platform is like an awakening.
I am thankful to the RB-BTS Day that I was able to do something in my vicinity.
This was like a push to do something and be a part of something worthwhile.
I am thankful to Raj Bhowmik.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
VOLUNTEERS IN RAKUM BLIND SCHOOL
This visit to Sri Rakum School by RB-BTS Day Volunteers was life transforming as
for the very first time, the Volunteers ventured out on the occasion of RB-BTS
Day and felt the most relieving and inspiring moments of their lives. The RB-BTS
Day volunteers reached out to 250 children at Rakum and understood their living
conditions, their world of Darkness and yet fully aware and alert. A peep in the
lives of friends at Rakum will open a whole world of Darkness inside us that we
still need to see and transform.
Hear what RB-BTS DREAM Volunteers Aparna Suri, Savina Sud and Naveen Kewalramani
have to say about their visit:
Aparna Suri (Proprieter of Salon Mousse and SPIGA), Bangalore
Once I understood the world at Rakum I decided that I could cook for them on a
regular basis. I realized what else can we do. We offered them things on the
list and they were overwhelmed at Rakum. They taught us how to read Braille.
Whenever I would see a blind person crossing the road, I would always have tears
in my eyes. We always spend money on other things and take for granted. I would
like to reduce a part of my entertainment funds and do something constructive
here every month. It was so wonderful to see that in spite of who they are the
children were so comfortable in their surrounding & well equipped. I had always
passed by the school but never entered here before this. I feel so amazing being
part of this big compassion wave today as it has been across the world. If we
all try even a bit we can make a small difference and even that matters to
someone so much. I feel very useful today. This experience has been like an
appetizer in my life.
I am grateful to the RB-BTS Day platform for this was an eye opener. We
requested a member to get a camera but when we told him the cause, he decided to
come and also contribute and now has committed.
I realized Raj today that a little bit of time that I made created a difference
that is ten folds and also that life must not be taken for granted.
Savina Sud (Category manager, Fashion and You), Bangalore
It was an inspiring visit and I realized that we have everything and we are
still cribbing. I am overwhelmed about being part of this compassion ocean and I
am lucky to be part of it. There is a peace in my heart that I am feeling now.
For the first time in my life, my head was right there when I am with them and
no where else.
I am thankful to Raj and he is doing phenomenal work. This RB-BTS Day platform
has helped me experience empathy that I have never ever experienced before.
Naveen Kewalramani (Business Owner Sachin Farms) , Bangalore
The whole experience has given me a nice feeling. When I saw the children I
initially felt very sad and I realized what more could I do for them. I have
from today promised them 12 kg of Chicken every wed from my farm which I can
surely do.
We would like to convey to Raj who has given us the RB-BTS Day Platform that we
are there with him.

VOLUNTEERS ON THE STREETS
In the hot summer months when the sun is scorching right above, few glasses of
cold water and juice offered with Love is the biggest relief.
RB-BTS DREAM Team comprising of Dr. Arundhati (Gynecologist) and her children
reached out to the following domains of 80 poor people in all in the close
vicinity of her home:
-
People who sweep the road
-
Cook in the police dept
-
Dhobis in the police dept
-
Needy caretakers
-
Street children
-
Vegetable Vendors
-
Autodrivers
-
Sales executive women traveling on foot.
About 50 adults and 30 children were included in the RB-BTS Day family through
this interaction. The sales women had smiles on their faces in the hot tiring,
sunny day.
Dr Arundhati (Gynecologist), Bangalore
We decided to extend and reach out to people who were moving. I realized the
more we give, the more is given and we are all channels. As part of the RB-BTS
Compassion ocean, I want it to grow. We need to respect uniqueness where there
is no demarcation. It is a flow of energy that is immeasurable and everybody
should experience it in their lifetime. People who have bottled up their
feelings especially need to experience it.
This is a platform that I was searching and it is God Sent.
I thank Raj Bhowmik for giving me this opportunity to be a channel of
compassion.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT AMMA SEVA ASHRAM
Directors of Taurus Pvt Ltd participated in the RB-BTS Day by visiting the Amma
Seva Ashram and spending time with the children. There were about 30 children
present at the venue. They get very excited and naturally want to share every
little event in
their life including the recent fights, skills and the nicest things that are
happening in their lives. Children at the Home are big fans of Michael Jackson
and were happy to show off their new dance steps that they had learnt.
Kumudini Rajaram (Director, Taurus Pvt Ltd), Bangalore
What moved me were the calls "Akka", as soon as we entered and the beaming
smiles. It is so welcoming. The RB-BTS Day is like a strong movement focused on
a lot of positive energy.
The RB-BTS Day occasion made me visit the place and give my small bit to a big
day. It is a great opportunity to be a part of many small drops.
Thank You Raj.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT HUTS OF CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
RB-BTS Day Volunteers Mr. Gulab Jain and his wife visited 15 huts in Uttarahalli
where construction is spreading. The families were welcoming and the
Volunteers offered fruits to them.
In Gulab Jain’s words (Teacher at Mallya Aditi International School),
Bangalore
The children were so happy as we entered their huts. It was a good experience,
very different. We need to go like this once a month. The RB-BTS Day is a good
platform that gave us immense satisfaction. We always think about ourselves and
this occasion reminds us to think about our community too.
My heart’s good wishes to Sri Raj Bhowmik for his large hearted generosity
towards mankind.

THE PASSION SPREADS - CAFE COFFEE DAY JOINS THE
DREAM
Sharanya is a small orphanage. It was started by Sir C.V. Raman’s wife. Mr.
Jayanth (President Café Coffee Day), inspired by the RB-BTS Day sent a momentum
rolling in his office about doing something collaboratively with his team.
Announcements went through mailers and posters at Café Coffee Day outlets so
that many more would be inspired by May 10th. In no time about 50
employees at Café Coffee Day rose to the RB-BTS Day Call by their leader.
When leaders are driven by inspirations, the team follows. The employees got
enough provisions for a whole month and together they took it to Sharanya and
spent time with the children.
As Sri Raj Bhowmik says in his book CORPORitual:
“We need to remember that in the human form we do not have the privilege to play
with time, as long as we want. Before the Chief Referee blows his whistle, we
have to make our lives meaningful. If we do not make a difference to the world
in any way, before we have to leave, then, what meaning do we have for the time
spent here? We just came, and we will just be gone. Stop for a while and ask
yourself, Is that how you want to ‘live’ and ‘leave’?”
– Sri Raj Bhowmik
Jayanth Coimbatore (President, Café Coffee Day, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
It was moving to see how the employees on understanding the purpose instantly
contributed. We made a poster of the RB-BTS Day in all our outlets so that more
people would participate in this heart touching program. On an earlier occasion
as part of the RB-BTS DREAM we visited a Christian orphanage and this time it is
a Hindu one. To close the circle next time, I want to visit a Muslim orphanage.
My daughter also played with the children at Sharanya. We need to do this
regularly.
The RB-BTS Day has stirred something and made me realize that a whole lot of
work can be done. I feel that there is a shift in consciousness. We wouldn’t
have known this part of ourselves. This gave an opportunity for the common man
to stand up and do something.
Smitha Jayanth (SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
The kids were very happy to see all of us. We sang and danced. It was heart
touching how people contributed with trust and one word, whatever they could.
There are no words to express when we do something like this. If not for the RB-BTS
Day Initiative this wouldn’t have happened.
Soulbath Peace Foundation has changed everything in our lives. We all have to do
one small thing.
The RB-BTS Day gave a momentum. Every time we are a part of the RB-BTS DREAM we
are so content and happy.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
YAHOO VOLUNTEERS ON THE STREET
Supriya Patil (Senior Project Lead QE, Yahoo)
This is the first time I was doing anything like offering to someone I don’t
know. I went around to places only to discover that there were exactly the same
number of kids as were the food packets. It touched me a lot to see the mother’s
smile. It felt very nice. We have all a lot of money but we waste it. I saw God
in them and I felt like Santa for them. It feels good even to be one drop in
this ocean. There’s a lot to do. I have now decided to carry some packets
everyday and give away to people. When our mind is busy we do not even see them.
May be the kids are there everyday.
The RB-BTS Day platform is a great thing that Sri Raj Bhowmik is doing. Whatever
his thoughts are, they are creating so many changes in all and it is spreading
peace all around the world.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
YOUTH VOLUNTEER
Inspite of the exams being in between, when the desire to do something is
stronger one finds the opportunities.
College youth Rahul T on his way back from college understanding the spirit of
the RB-BTS Day, went about distributing Bananas to children all by himself.
Rahul T (Final year student) -
Thank you to the RB-BTS Platform to have included me also to do something so
heart touching.

THE SPIRIT UNFOLDS
With the busy corporate job schedules when one has not event the
time to visit a nearby place, a gesture speaks volumes.
Mr. Siddhartha offered a generous contribution to an orphanage Shishu Mandir to
be part of the spirit of RB-BTS Day, sponsoring 255 children for lunch.
Siddhartha Rai -
I have never done this before and this is the first time I offered to an
orphanage because I wanted to be part of the RB-BTS Day.

THE SPIRIT UNFOLDS IN RAJASTHAN
As part of the RB-BTS DREAM family who were deeply touched by the World Family
Day of 2010 organized by Soulbath Peace Foundation, volunteers kept their work
going this time to carry the Sprinkling essence to a home that looks after
mentally challenged people.
Some inmates of the home didn’t even know their name and the caretakers were
telling us that they are called by this name. Inmates here were left behind by
their families and this being the summer vacation, as families find it difficult
to handle their condition. The inmates come from various homes in Mumbai,
Bangalore and Mt Abu. There were on
a total 27 inmates. On May 10th was
our second visit as the RB-BTS DREAM Team to the place and by then some began to
show signs of recognition by smiling and asking us when we would be coming back
again to meet them.
Everybody understands the language of Love and appreciation and though
Compassion responses are both ways. We realized very soon that this place was
helping children become independent. The new friends lifted their plates,
cleaned it themselves, kept their beds clean and we could see years of training
put behind them.
Pushpa Pant (Teacher at Sri Aurobindo New Age School, Jodhpur)
I was moved when I saw one of the children Age 6 who couldn’t talk or hear or
even eat. He had to be on liquid diet always. His parents have left him here. My
colleagues also accompanied us enthusiastically when they learnt about the RB-BTS
Day. A small child helpd my hand and showed me in sign language to get a Big
Kachodi. I was moved and realized that I could fulfill a very small desire of
some one.
I realized that we all want to do something but in our busy schedule we miss it
out. Today in the same schedule I fitted in 1.5 hours. My husband had also come
here specially from this leaving behind some work. My sister in Dehradun is also
a part of this year's RB-BTS Day.
I wish to express Thank You to Sri
Raj Bhowmik and the platform RB-BTS
Day and this initiative today. We realized that we can do so much. His efforts
have made us realize that with a
little effort we can make a difference to the whole life.
Vijay Pant (Chief Controller,
North Western Railway, Jodhpur)
I was touched when I saw them happy. It was about being together and not the
food. Someone also offered me a bite from their plate. The inmates believed that
today is someone’s birthday. My son was shocked to even see that
differently-able people exist and I am happy to expose him to this Reality in a
loving and compassionate manner.
I immensely thank the RB-BTS DREAM Platform for giving us an opportunity every
year to be part of something so soul stirring.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT SHELTER HOMES
The Gurgaon RB-BTS DREAM Volunteers reached Aarushi Home. Beginning with a
search in Delhi to discovering a place right next door, the RB-BTS DREAM team
met the girls at 6 a.m.
Providing them with a nourishing breakfast of fruits and milk that is more
focused on health, the day began with a little knowing each other and also
talking with the baby.
Here was a Corporate Mom & Dad with hectic travel schedules deciding to take
early morning time only to realize that it is their life’s deepest desire that
was fulfilled through the RB-BTS Day platform. The Salaam Baalak Trust house
children who are HIV+ and street orphans raising them and providing them good
standards of living together as a family. It was wonderful to see the kids
getting ready to leave for school and seeing them off.
The RB-BTS Day Volunteers and children had a soul touching opportunity of a Baby
Shower where children spoke to the
baby in the womb, giving the baby good wishes and sprinkling their loving touch
with sweet, kind words.
Divya Dwivedi (Director @ Director General’s Office @ Federation of Indian
Chambers Of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)), Gurgaon
I loved the experience but felt sad that we should have done this regularly.
Once you are trading on the path new avenues open up and this is just like
somebody telling you that you will get what you want once you start moving
ahead. The feeling of the beginning of the day was so good and I shared it with
everybody in the office about the RB-BTS Day.
The RB-BTS Day is like a completely new beginning that is optimistic and full of
enthusiasm as I can see the way forward – the Way that I accept and trust. It is
like an eye opener that tells us how much we are capable of and has given us the
right direction to go on. It is a unique experience which I want to take
forward.
Shalil Gupta (Director Consultant, International Data Corporation), Gurgaon
I felt good about starting the day with such a good act that left inside me a
wonderful feeling. My mind was at peace. It can be done as a community and I
want to start to reach out to create this community. Definitely I can see a way
forward where doing something is more important than the materialistic
contribution.
The essence of Compassion as part of the RB-BTS Day was an eye opener.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT MOTHER TERESA HOME IN JALANDHAR
Mrs Anubha and her friend
Shikha visited the Mother Teresa orphanage. What
was heart touching to see was the dependency of the children to move, sit or
even speak. The home was clean and the staff were friendly.
Anubha’s testimonial:
I love doing work like this
and to involve myself at the smallest opportunity that life gives me.
Today being the RB-BTS day
was another opportunity and I was happy visiting the children on this day too.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT PATARA VILLAGE IN JALANDHAR
Baljit Kaur (RB-BTS Day Volunteer)
When I heard about the RB-BTS Day, I thought that I must do something as I used
to do a lot of work when I was younger. So I offered my contributions to the
Gurudwara Langar that feeds about 1000 people.
I am happy to be a part of the RB-BTS Day and would do anything in the future
also.
Thank You Raj .
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR MALAYSIA
The RB-BTS Day Volunteer visited
'House Of Joy' - A
charitable home providing shelter and care for the needy. 60 Children are
provided shelter, education, care, counseling thus providing a wholesome
development for the child at the Care centre.
Rashmi Thodkar (Financial
Analyst, HP & SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
A lot of children offered to the home by single
mothers, divorced couples and by families who want to give away the child. It
was quite moving to learn about this. It was a good experience to go out and
meet the children rather than just offer money in charity.
I should first of all thank SPF for letting
me be part of this noble cause. It was very heart-touching to actually go up to
their home and look at the way the children live and learn. I have wanted to do
this, but it was always something passive in my mind. I did not do anything
about it. Now I feel really good and would love to keep up with such visits and
interactions.
Like Raj says, the joy of giving back to the
society has a feeling of fulfillment which no other can match.
I would like to pass on a BIG Thank you to Raj
for providing this platform and letting such a beautiful act be done by people
all over the world at the same time, same day. This has been an enriching
experience and will be for anyone who is part of it, in the most remote way.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
VOLUNTEERS IN ORPHANAGES
Dr. Chetana (A dentist by profession) joined the RB-BTS Day celebrations in
Sirsi. Sirsi is a small town. Dr. Chetana is an expecting Mother and nothing
came in the way her to share her love with the children at Shishu Vihar as part
of the RB-BTS Day.
Dr. Chetana (Dentist), Raigarh
I am feeling very light and extremely happy. It’s a heart touching experience
that has no words. I am happy to be part of this compassion ocean and I feel
free, sailing calmly.
I would like to say to Sri Raj Bhowmik that we are very lucky that we are also
seeing a different way of life and it is coming in the right way. This action
needs to become like a routine naturally so that we are calm and peaceful. It is
because of Him. He is like a Guru who is teaching us this. I want to tell my
baby that one needs to be happy in life and help all, whatever comes we need to
face with happiness.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT CHAKRADHAR BAL SADAN
The Raj Bhowmik Back To Society DREAM Team at Raigarh visited the Chakradhar Bal
Sadan. This orphanage is located right next door to the campus of Lakshmi Dental
Clinic. We have a stereotype image about an orphanage usually impoverished,
children who want to merely grab and as a result may give a perception of how
important we as individuals are. However Life shows different images that
everybody in the eco system is not the same and there is diversity.
RB-BTS DREAM Volunteers visited the orphanage to discover shy and well behaved
children. They did not come grabbing nor did they snatch. A feeling of
contentment was experienced. We visited the orphanage to provide the provisions
twice during lunch and snack. It was delightful to see Kulfis beating the heat
of the summer in the evening.
The kids ate in shifts and were quite content with what they had received as a
treat. The number of female children at the orphanage is high. It only talks
about a trend about how the girl child is still treated in this part of India
with the predominance given to the male child.
Dr. Harish (Dentist, Lakshmi Dental Clinic, Raigarh)
I realized a high level of contentment during my visit to the orphanage. I do
intent coming to the orphanage and this time offer more than just food such as
notebooks, games, clothes and guidance that they need. I feel great to be part
of this opportunity of being connected to the RB-BTS Day. This day is a
Movement for the masses who come of
their own interest and not out of any greed.
Thank You Raj as this is also a good time to improve upon myself with a good
feeling and support. The RB-BTS Day also allows us to participate from our very
own places. I am very touched. Thanks for this amazing experience.

SHIRDI HOME
For many years now the Shirdi Home at Jaipur as Sanjay Sharma lovingly calls it
his second home, has grown as a home for many children. The home today houses
children as young as 2.5 to 16 years Resources for the home are provided by an
integral unit of families and as Sanjay, one of the members who takes care of
the home says – “the children have many mothers who give them love and care”
It is about 28 km away from the city and birthdays of eminent people in the
world who made a difference to society are celebrated there.
May 10 RB-BTS Day was welcomed by the members as they enthusiastically got
another opportunity for a celebration at the orphanage. The children were
encouraged to discover some new applications using technology as part of their
engagement.
72 children in all carried the RB-BTS Day Essence with them at Shirdi Home,
Jaipur.
Sanjay Sharma:
Thanking the RB-BTS Day platform to give us another opportunity to celebrate
with the children.

VOLUNTEERS REACH PONDICHERRY
Amidst the warm sultry weather of the summer heat in Pondicherry came a relief
to Cluny Day Care Centre when RB-BTS Day Volunteer reached with energy food and
drinks. These were carefully designed to provide maximum nourishment for
breakfast.
25 children who are at the Govt. Day Care Centre were teary eyed, refusing even
to smile at the camera. However in sometime when the ice was broken and the lip
smacking energy food arrived, some children who were teary began smiling,
showing acceptance.
Energy food is a specially designed Laddu rolled with nuts and almonds that is
nutritionally rich – a delicacy served at a local outlet in Pondicherry.
RB-BTS Day Volunteer Girija Says:
Whenever there is an opportunity I like to extend my hand in whatever I can
offer. The children were very happy and welcoming. The staff were appreciative
of us taking care of nourishment.
The RB-BTS Day platform is a global celebration and I feel good being a part of
it.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT VIVEKANANDA ORPHANAGE
Dr. Lakshmi Brijesh (Dentist) -
We went to the Vivekananda Ashram orphanage in Mangalore with my father. We
moved around the area to take a peek into the lives of children, how they study,
sleep and which school they go to. The in-charge also got us involved in the
kitchen while the food was being cooked. It
is a nice feeling to know so many people in the world were engaged at the same
time to do this.
The RB-BTS Day platform made us pause and look at life. In our busy lives we
have no time to breathe or think. It is good that we can stop, think and do
whatever is needful.

THE VOLUNTEER SPIRIT
Smita Viswanath (Test Engineer, Juniper Network, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
-
When I heard about the RB-BTS Day, I did my bit of going to a near by blind
orphanage at Bangalore but wanted my grand parents also to be part of this. When
I told my Grand Mom she was so consumed by the health check ups of Grand Dad.
However I learnt that at night, she fed the poor security guard who is an old
man too and does not have a family. I am very happy.
It is a small thing but it means a lot for my grand parents to be a part of the
RB-BTS Day at their age.
I am thankful to the RB-BTS Day platform. It’s nice that we are able to create
the focus and doing things that we have other wise not done before in our lives.

KANPUR BLIND SCHOOL
Healing and wellbeing travel through families beyond distances. RB-BTS Volunteer
at Kanpur heard about the May 10 annual event through
his sister. Each family has a culture but culture of Compassion and Kindness is
Universal. Thus, on his Sister’s request who was closely involved with the RB-BTS
Day at Bangalore, Mr. Mahesh volunteered enthusiastically to go to spread the
Essence of the day.
His main objective was to involve the self personally. To achieve this the RB-BTS
Team comprising of his father who is 75 and himself traveled to Kanpur Blind
School. There were 21 children
touched by the RB-BTS Day Fragrance carried by the Team.
Mahesh Valiramani: This is the
first time I have involved myself in a movement like this and I felt good being
in it. At first, I went to a place only to discover that I didn’t feel too good
about the place. However, my focus was to do something for the day with my own
hands. Although my father is in this offering work for a long time, this is the
first time I have come with him.
The RB-BTS Day Platform surely has made me and my work feel like an achievement.

NAGAR NIGAM GOVT. SCHOOL KANPUR
A group of 6 enthusiastic volunteers carrying fresh juices, fruits and biscuits
arrived at the Nagar Nigam School in Kanpur as part of the RB-BTS Day
Celebrations. The school had low attendance. However, when the intention was
mentioned 21 children appeared from nearby neighborhoods. The children were very
happy with the interactions as this was a good break from the heat at Kanpur – a
pleasant surprise by the RB-BTS Team.
U.K. Dwivedi Shares:
We had a chat with the kids and distributed some eatable. It was a very pleasing
experience. I also cancelled my visit to be with my wife who was keen to be part
of the RB-BTS Day. We can do this independently but when we do this together it
becomes a Movement.
I would like to thank the RB-BTS Platform and thank Sri Raj Bhowmik for giving
me the opportunity at this age.

VOLUNTEERS IN SINGAPORE
The RB-BTS DREAM Team traveled to METTA, an
organization that takes care of the disabled and terminally ill elderly. The
team comprised of a mother and daughter duo who carried fresh apples to serve 60
elderly women to mark the celebration of the RB-BTS Day.
Anuradha
Kashi and her daughter Apoorva believe that this was a fulfilling experience
for them to be part of the RB-BTS Day and doing their bit in Singapore.

CHILDREN OUTSIDE TEMPLE
RB-BTS Volunteer in Delhi
decided to offer children some snacks in the evening. However as the children
were really looking forward to the food, the also did some grabbing amongst
themselves. But in Life when ever we grab, it makes us realize of a Lack and
surely the children where Needy in its truest sense.
Pooja Dwivedi (working for Hyundai Motors)
Giving was a good experience as part of the RB-BTS Day. Initially I had decided
to give all the children near the temple a biscuit packet and 2 bananas and in
no time many came forward and started grabbing. Initially I got angry but now I
realized that they were really needy. As I helped someone, I felt good. I have
always enjoyed doing this in my life but there has been a gap of 5 years now. I
loved it and will keep doing it.
The RB-BTS Day has made me think about what I need to do consistently.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
VOLUNTEERS IN JAMGHAT DELHI
On the occasion of the RB-BTS Day, a team comprising of 2 families visited a
home where street children are housed – Jamghat. The day was a unique
celebration where Lion King part II was seen.
The children began connecting their everyday life to the likes depicted in the
film including their fights. Everybody came up with their own story of how the
movie was relevant to their life. Their responses were about home, staying
together, happiness.
The RB-BTS Day Volunteers carried some biscuits, fruits & juices for them as
refreshments. One of the volunteers from Meerut manufacture bats, balls and the
cricket set and left behind the treasure for the children to enjoy and remember
the RB-BTS Day.
Sharmishta Sarkar (Participatory Research Specialist @ Praxis, SAHHEAL
Healing Consultant)
I t
was moving to realize that the meeting did not feel like our first meeting at
all. It felt like they were waiting for me. My son was also a part of it. The
children were extremely humble. I love being a part of this Compassion Ocean and
felt guided as if everything was pre planned. Initially there were questions
about how do I work but in sometime it eased out.
The RB-BTS Day platform is not for an organization
but it is meant for people to think and feel for others and expanding their
families. The RB-BTS Day platform was about asking people to join in whatever
they wanted to do to the world in their capacities. I realized my main focus in
my life through this RB-BTS Day.
My friend, visited old age home at Lucknow and spent
some time soulfully, she has also shared the purpose and specialty of today. She
is planning to visit them soon again.
Thanks for the given me this opportunity. My hearty gratitude to Shri Raj
Bhowmik.

MOVEMENT RIPPLES IN GUWAHATI
RB-BTS Day Volunteer Indu Lakhotia (MOM, Home maker)
We were 15 of us who went to Matri Mandir. It was so moving to see children who
are so small as young as 3 months. One of my friend’s child wanted to take the 3
month old baby with her. The children loved the toys we carried and it was good
to see them learn to play with the toys. They were so engrossed that they didn’t
worry about the food. My younger daughter about age 9 said that we need to come
here regularly.
I am thankful to the RB-BTS Platform that shows a New side of Life in a very
compassionate manner.
Shailja Lakhotia (Student, Grade XI)
It is awesome and I was touched going there to Matri Mandir. Next time, I am
getting every friend to this place. It was good to see the glow on the
children’s faces when they learnt to play with the toys. We don’t really think
about people in our daily life other than a project work. I have decided to go
there once a year.
The RB-BTS Day is a good platform that allows commoners to be part of something
that is so meaningful.

VANITA ANATH ASHRAM DEHRADUN
Ritu Kothari (PhD student, Dehradun)
We went to Vanitha Anath Ashram with some of my friends as part of the RB-BTS
day. My sister in Jodhpur told me about the RB-BTS Day. We found that children
from grade 1 – 12 lived there and were given tuitions. What was moving was to
hear a girl sing so beautifully. My friends were so moved that one also began to
cry and we all decided that once a year we would celebrate an ocassion at this
place. I am feeling that I have done something useful today and I am feeling
worthy. I also offered them tuitions but they woudnt take it free. Having done
Child psychology in my college, I used to think about doing something for
children.
The RB-BTS Day came my way and I did it. Thank You for giving me this
opportunity. This is my life’s happiest day.

VOLUNTEERS IN TRIBAL ORPHANAGE
The RB-BTS DREAM Team went to TEAM Vision Children’s home. It is a unique
charity project catering to the deepest villages where event the
Govt. projects and benefits have not reached. Till today there are witch doctors
and the tribals are completely dependent on fruits from the trees.
The family who volunteered for the RB-BTS Day were inspired to be a part of our
Founder Sri Raj Bhowmik’s vision even though they were on a holiday. The whole
family visited the orphanage to learn more about the children, the work and the
need of the project in the area.
Today Team Vision’s first girl child has written her XII Std and has passed.
Veeramma belonged to the community of hunters and gatherers but today she wants
to study further. The RB-BTS Team learnt through this day how even medical
facilities did not reach the homes in the deepest jungles and the nearest
localities were about 7 km away.
The volunteers were touched when they learnt about how the project started and
how the members of the orphanage were initially not welcome in the tribal
villages to now taking care of them. About 65 children are members of the
orphanage.
Shakila Ramesh (Home maker & SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
We distributed provisions for the month. We learnt how the project had saved the
lives of several children otherwise left at the mercy of death. The tribal
children have similar dreams like urban children – collector, doctor, teacher
and policemen.
I am very satisfied being part of the RB-BTS Day. I am grateful for the RB-BTS
Day platform for a nice opening. It was good to have a purposeful holiday.
Ramesh Ranganathan (Owner Adyar Bakery, Chennai)
It was a great heart warming experience. Now, I realize that we need to
something at a regular level.
The RB-BTS Day helped us take our first step.
Raj Bhowmik has given us the gentle push to do something to the lives of others
and without him this wouldn’t have happened.

SCHOOL ON ROADSIDE PAVEMENT
RB-BTS Day Volunteer speaks:
Malini V Rao (Software Engineer, MOM)
While dropping my son to school, I often saw this gentleman with some kids on a
pavement. I saw them for almost a year. What moved me was that in this hot
scorching son, he still continues. I approached him and offered our contribution
as part of the RB-BTS Day. There were 20 children through the year and talking
to him I realized he has already admitted 15 in the primary school and 5 more to
go for the year. It feels good to be part of this ocean of compassion. I did
something that was worth it.
I appreciate the RB-BTS Day platform and the work put in by the Founder Raj
Bhowmik.

CHORAMPUDI VILLAGE ANDRA PRADESH
Chorampudi is a small village with a population of about 2000 people. It is
located in Krishna dist and the nearest town Machilipatnam is about 30 km away.
RB-BTS DREAM Volunteer Veer Raju was here at his village. His close association
with Soulbath Peace Foundation and be part of the community inspired by the RB-BTS
Day initiated a door to door distribution of sweet in about 80 houses of the
village.
The villagers were happy to be part of the RB-BTS Day.
The Raj Bhowmik Back To Society
Day Fragrance reached the
interior most village in the State only to show that there are innumerable
channels of Compassion who speak different languages but the outcome is the same
smile of people’s faces.
"Only the soul can understand the language of the soul. And anything else other
than your soul will not be able to decipher the meaning of the complete song
which is being sung by another soul." – Sri Raj Bhowmik
Veer Raju thanks the RB-BTS Day platform for giving him the opportunity to
celebrate the spirit of the day in his home village.

ON A TRAIN JOURNEY
Renuka Mani (Corporate Trainer)
We celebrated the RB-BTS Day in the train on our way to Pune. I got down the
train in 2 occasions to give away food packets to 3 old men who were very poor.
One of them was even disabled. When he saw food he lifted his head and smiled
and blessed me. There were many in the train and we did it together. Remembering
the old gentleman and the smile on his face made me feel good.
Joining this ocean of compassion through the RB-BTS Day, I
felt happy that we could give it to people who needed it the most

SCHOOL
SUMMER CAMP
The RB-BTS Day Volunteers in Mysore heard about this celebration through their
friends in Bangalore. Inspired by the act of Giving, Mr. Manjunath and his wife
distributed chocolates to children near a local school running a summer camp. It
was the act of sharing that was heart touching.
Mr. Manjunath shares:
My wife spent some happy times with the children. The act in turn made the kids
very happy. This desire has been there deep inside me for a long time now and
the RB-BTS Day platform has given the fulfillment to a wish.
I thank for the opportunity provided to me through the RB-BTS Day platform.

ON THE
WHEELS
Shubha Godbole was busy shooting for her serial but the RB-BTS Day was on her
mind. She wanted to do something for the children on the streets of Mumbai on
her way to work. She gave away few biscuit packets to hungry children. In a
heart touching gesture, summer being the Mango months she had baked a delicious
mango cake. She generously shared the cake with her cooks and told them to give
it to their children.
Shubha Godbole thanks the RB-BTS Day platform:
Everybody should give. When we are all getting so much we should do this
everyday. That’s what the RB-BTS Day platform encourages people to do, to act,
to perform.

VOLUNTEERS VISIT BLIND SCHOOL VARANASI
The RB-BTS DREAM Team at Varanasi visited the Hanuman Prasad Poddar Andh
Vidyalaya to reach out to 40 children. Amidst a day where the temperature in the
city was high and no supplies, a sigh of relief came when wholesalers decided to
deliever the provisions to the door step of the Blind School. The Manifestation
of truly being useful to Society is always respected and it’s about finding
options when we hit the crossroads.
Our Founder Sri Raj Bhowmik has said:
“When you give, not for the sake of getting back, but out of pure compassion,
then the joy which you receive in return, is not less than the joy of getting
the most precious gift”
RB-BTS Day Volunteers Ajai & Rajni
Jain were very happy indeed to contribute through the RB-BTS Day platform and
are looking forward to more such interactions in the future.

RAMANA
VIDYA PEETHAM TIRUCHULI
The RB-BTS Day was celebrated at Ramana Vidya
Peetham welcoming 30 children. These children were from nearby villages that are
still remote in their facilities. They still have to walk a long way and
families are still dependent on the monsoons for their living.
Below are words from Maa Narmada & Swami
Sethuraman, -Caregivers at the Ramana Vidya Peetham
In the first interaction the children asked us
in the native language ‘ what is compassion ‘ and we told them it was love. We
asked them to express in how many ways they felt and expressed this love in
their day to day life. We had very moving experiences that the children shared
with us. All the children had one common expression. They never like to see
their mother and father fight, never liked to see fights of any kind neither in
the village nor among friends or families or relatives. We could understand that
they got the essence of the subject.
We listened to every soul that shared its
compassionate experiences. Arya mala a 10 year old child said ‘my father always
drinks and beats my mother, but I love both of them. My mother would cry all
night and would get up in the morning and cook for all of us and take care of
us. One day I went up to my father and told him dad I love you both so much that
it pains to see you and mother fight. Please don’t drink. The father was so
moved by the love of his little daughter that he resolved never to drink again.
Another little girl Sangeetha walking to school
narrated that she saw an old woman on the road struggling with a bundle of
thorny sticks on her head. The thorns on the bundle had scratched her hand and
torn her saree. This little girl left her school bag with the old lady and
carried the bundle to the old woman's house.
Then the children played and painted, had snacks
and hot lunch of rice, sambar , potatoes and papads were served. They ate with
joy and got their new pencil kit.
They all joined to thank, to put it in their own
words ‘ thank you Ramana, thank you Master Raj Bhowmik for this wonderful day.’
The RB-BTS Day is practical spirituality. Our
own Masters have always taught us to give back to society. I am moved.
This RB-BTS is the only way to reach out to more
and more souls who need help. We would like to connect with you, Master Raj
Bhowmik. Spirituality has to manifest like this. One has to be moving around
with the downtrodden to really become a Master. Not someone who is sitting on a
throne.

VOLUNTEERING IN BARASAT
Dr. Joydeep Chatterjee (Gynecologist, Specilization Infertility & High Risk
Pregnancy) -
I have been quietly involved with providing feeding to the girls for many years
now. It began with a calling. However on the occasion of RB-BTS Day, the numbers
were more, so we arranged it at the near by Loknath Temple. After eating they
demanded that we play together and I was hopping and jumping around like a child
with them. I have gone through the writings of Sri Raj Bhowmik and he is an
enlightened. Today, strangely I met a teacher who offered that we could run the
feeding in the school. It has opened doors were more children can be
accommodated.
The RB-BTS Day is a good effort and involving myself as part of it, I feel good.
Thank You Sri Raj Bhowmik

VOLUNTEERS VISIT ANGEL HOUSE
The RB-BTS DREAM Team visited Angel House in Chennai. It has an orphanage, an
old-age home and a destitute woman centre in the same premise. Provisions were
supplied and time was spent with the children singing together.
Lakshmi Sunil (Physiotherapist & Principal at Arvind Foundation)
I was focused on going to an orphanage on the RB-BTS Day and discovered that
Angel House existed right next door. It feels wonderful to be part of a noble
deed which is like bringing together the country and the world together through
one platform where everybody is doing the same thing: sharing and giving. It is
great to know that so many people across the world have participated.
Raj Bhowmik gave me an opportunity to do this and bring everybody under 1
platform. Thank You Raj.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
GURUKULAM VOLUNTEER
Rajmohan Pai (Head Marketing Support, Sundaram Finance, SAHHEAL Healing
Consultant)
We began with a circle time where the kids sang and danced. Then we recited
rhymes. The children were very young between (4 – 13) years. When asked ‘what do
you want to become’, the elder boys responded teacher, doctor, police, IAS. I
told them Sri Raj Bhowmik’s message from Soul Song that whatever their desire
is, they just need to believe in it. They quietly listened to me. Then we
distributed apples and said bye to each other.
What moved me is that I realized that these children were longing for love. Some
children were sitting very close to me, some put their head on my lap. They long
for someone to listen to and love them. I felt good to be doing this as part of
a Global Movement. More than money I realized that spending time is more
important. When I distributed the apples, they just took it. But when we were
together, they felt good.
Thank You for the RB-BTS Day platform as this is the first time that I have gone
and spent time like this with children.
Earlier my contribution would only be limited to financial. This time it was
about involving myself. Thank You Soulbath Peace Foundation. A big thank you to
Raj Bhowmik.

VOLUNTEERS IN ST. LOUIS HOME
The RB-BTS Team assembled at 8 am to serve breakfast during the RB-BTS Day. This
also gave an opportunity for RB-BTS Day Volunteers to begin discussions.
Anantha Krishnan (Transport Division, Accenture, SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
The most moving experience was to learn that the kids who were in the orphanage
were brought in by cops who were disowned by their parents and found in
dustbins, on the highway, etc. We now want to support this work and we have
already initiated talks in our company after going back from here.
This platform of RB-BTS Day has given a start. We always wanted to do something
but never knew where to start. We are more responsible in action after being to
the orphanage as part of the RB-BTS Day.
RB-BTS DAY, 2011
ST. LAWRENCE FOUNDATION
The RB-BTS Day Volunteers reached Lawrence Foundation, Chennai. It was about
spending time together with what children love to do best – paint & draw.
Sheeba Radhamohan (V.P of Axis Bank, wife of famous Tamil Movie Director Mr.
Radhamohan & SAHHEAL Healing Consultant)
I felt content just like when I give to my children and the kids also responded
in the same way – surprised. It feels wonderful to be connected to all through
this Global Movement. It feels like there is a sense of largeness and everything
is linked and connected.
Thanks Raj for giving us this one day to be so connected. Wanting to be like
that now all the time.
Deepika Kumaravel (Wife Of Tamil Actor Mr. Kumaravel, Creative
Professional)
It was a very good visit and we have now decided that we would do it more often.
It felt like a lot of energy here as many were doing the same thing. Although
there we few children but the energy was very different here today. The children
did not look sad or pleasing. They were just themselves. It has been one of the
most fulfilling days. My daughter also accompanied us and it is very important
for children to give. Though we did it at a very micro level the togetherness is
unstoppable and the feeling as a whole. The energy created by doing something
together pushes in many dimensions.
I thank Raj for giving Laya and me an opportunity to set something in our lives
that will go on and on. It is very simple yet life changing. The momentum has
begun.

RAMAKRISHNA MISSION ORPHANAGE
Kavitha Sridharan (Entrepreneur & Jewellery Designer @ Chinagari )
I visited the Ramakrishna Mission orphanage today with my children to
participate in the RB-BTS Day. On arriving there at 3.45 I realized that the
boys in the hostel were busy cleaning as they had daily responsibilities of
looking after their community. It was moving to see how the children were taught
the value of what they have by taking responsibility. It was good to see all
children getting equal opportunities where they work for themselves and are
claiming responsibility.
The RB-BTS Day has been an enriching experience, it makes one feel grateful to
where you are and how much you can do towards Society in general.

YOUTH VOLUNTEERS IN CHENNAI
As part of College Community Service Initiative, the youth from Chennai were
involved in making a difference to the children at orphanages: The Platform RB-BTS
Day. This was like a push and in no time many youth from city’s most prestigious
colleges Loyola College & MOP Vaishnav College for women enrolled in the
program.
The students initiated the contacts and spent valuable time at Snehalaya, an
orphanage that houses 20 boys.
This is what one of them have to say:
Aditi Jain (Visual Communication Student at MOP Vaishnav College), Chennai
On the 10th of
May 4 of us - Nupoor Rajkumar, Tejas Ramaratnam, Nandeeshwar Selvakumar and I,
Aditi Jain went to 'Snehalaya' an orphanage in Ayapakkam, Chennai. We reached
there by 2 30 pm and were greeted by some happy smiling faces of young boys.
They were extremely friendly and made us feel at ease with them.
They introduced
themselves and we started talking like friends meeting after a long time! They
explained how they come to Chennai to spend their Summer and how much they love
it here. By 3 30 we left to play cricket with them and had a lots of fun out in
the field despite the hot sun! We took some chocolates for them and a packet of
Tang juice which they enjoyed after a tiring game of cricket. We had to bid them
farewell by 5 30 pm.
It was a first time visit to an Orphanage for all the four of us and we had an
amazing time with the children there. We were extremely overjoyed when they
invited us to come visit them sometime again :D. I am deeply grateful to the Raj
Bhowmik group for giving us this
awesome opportunity in getting closer to the society
I would like to thank Shri Raj
Bhowmik for initiating this
Global movement and helping us realize and understand the people around us. It
was indeed a heartwarming experience. We were so happy to be part of the Raj
Bhowmik Group's Back To Society Day.
Thank you
