SOULBATH PEACE FOUNDATION WORKSHOP
Mom 2 Mom
In collaboration with Bangalore Birth Network

Soulbath Peace Foundation in association with Bangalore Birth Network held a MOM’s workshop to understand the role of a mother and her communication to the child in the womb and outside, understanding impacts of upbringing and to enhance that bonding by “Being” herself truly towards any relationship as every relationship blossoms with nurture and care.

Soulbath Peace Foundation collaborated with members of Bangalore Birth Network to have an exclusive workshop on MOMs – A Journey Begins, Mom 2 Mom. This workshop was attended by Moms who had children with varying age groups and the focus was on playing the Mom role v/s Being the Mom.

When we have a new born baby we claim full responsibility of the baby and since it is a woman’s first time into this space usually she is excited as it gives her a new meaning. However in this new age that is fast and the perfect Moms that we all want to be – there is a pressure that is created in the environment that is almost always passed on to her child. Often after repeated such experiences that are unconscious, the children also begin to form a pattern of responses thus creating that adult.

Understanding the larger picture and breaking that performing pressure, thus easing out the process for the new mom was the outcome – that we play this role constantly in our lives not just for our babies but it is an essence of nurturing and caring that we extend and we are specialists in it.

In this fast paced corporate era, the burn out in relationships that we experience and how Moms could also get super burnt out as a result of this was discussed. Balancing the body – mind and spirit is the solution. Some understand the magic inside out, some understand the formula from the outside to inside. It was a day of sharing, understanding, letting go, relieving, releasing and re-living.

I recollected a few lines from Sri Raj Bhowmik's discourse,

“I have learned that being kind is more important than being right.
I have learned that you should never say "No" to a gift from a child.
I have learned that simple walks with my father at free time when I was a child, did wonders for me as an adult.”

Often in our journey of growing up, it was the language of our Moms that were kind more that being right because they always wanted us to be happy. It is that unconditional acceptance that is felt only with a Mom who accepts us for who we are. Sometimes those moments can be filled with silence but they often have so many words of security, love and care saturated with them.

As Sri Raj Bhowmik often reminds us that “We all have a rent to pay – to the earth and to our parents”

It is this rent of our ‘being’ to our Moms that is precious and invaluable. In our efforts to play the role of the most perfect Mom, it is only worthwhile to remember the essence that we began in the first place – to become wholesome, to extend more, to love, to identify, to find meaning …and all this from a deeper calmer space of understanding makes it wider and more people are touched by this essence of our being a Mom.
